Most K-dramas however huge in ratings or buzz during the airing invariably dies down after it ends and other than diehard fans people move on. It’s rare to have a hit drama with a long tail and those feel like once a decade special occurrences. I say this because after Queen of Tears, which set the all time tvN ratings record, ended in April it felt like all talk about it finished up as well. At least for me, it was a lovely ending to a drama I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end, so I don’t have anything else I feel like discussing about it. But this week Kim Ji Won has a full pictorial in Vogue Korea July 2024 edition out and I’m thrilled to admire and discuss it even though I wish it came out two months earlier so she can ride the QoT wave more. This pictorial is classic Vogue, top of the fashion magazine food chain and every Vogue spread always gives off old money but young and slightly off-kilter vibe. It’s basically the Marni of magazines and I think suits Kim Ji Won perfectly.
