Adult Swim’s screening schedule for San Diego Comic-Con 2024 hints at an anime adaptation of Shu Sakuratani’s manga Rooster Fighter.
The information was a part of the schedule list that was put out by Adult Swim’s official Twitter account. However the post was soon deleted.
The schedule lists Rooster Fighter under the First Look category, suggesting that an anime adaptation may soon be revealed.
In addition to Rooster Fighter, Adult Swim’s schedule also revealed that first looks for Uzumaki and Lazarus anime will be unveiled.
Written and illustrated by Shu Sakuratani, Rooster Fighter started on Hero’s Inc.’s Comiplex manga website on Dec 18, 2020. The series’ first tankōbon volume was released on May 1, 2021. As of Jan 29, 2024, seven volumes have been released.
The manga is licensed in North America by Viz Media. The manga is also licensed in Argentina and Spain by Editorial Ivrea and in Brazil and Mexico by Panini Comics.
MAL describes the plot of Rooster Fighter as:
The neighborhood cock of the walk is more than just an ordinary rooster—he’s humanity’s greatest defender! His opponents may be ten stories tall, but nothing is bigger than his stout heart and his fearsome battle cry—cock-a-doodle-doo!
