Blossoms have been teasing new music by directing fans to call a mysterious hotline.
The Stockport indie rockers advertised the number with a video featuring a tow truck driving down a road with a giant gorilla statue on its back end, along with the number. The gorilla statue may have been a nod to the video for their previous single ‘What Can I Say After I’m Sorry?’ in which Everton manager Sean Dyche hires them for a gorilla heist in a spoof of the story of an eight-foot fibreglass gorilla called Gary being stolen from a garden centre in Scotland last year. 
Fans later revealed that when they called the hotline, they could hear snippets of new Blossoms music.
In fact, the stunt proved so popular that the line crashed. Updating fans on social media, Blossoms wrote: “Hey friends! We’re really sorry but this number has crashed due to ‘very high demand’ really sorry for people who didn’t get through! We’re working really hard to try and get it up and running or get a new number!”

The new music is expected to come from Blossoms’ upcoming fifth album, which will be the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb’.
During an interview late last year, Ogden explained that Blossoms’ next full-length effort was “the most we’ve kind of spread our wings in terms of collaboration”.
“We worked with CMAT a little bit, who we are big fans of, and we worked with Jungle who we’re big fans of,” he said.
After headlining Club NME in February, Blossoms are scheduled to play a huge outdoor show in Manchester this summer with support from the likes of Inhaler, Shed Seven and The K’s. You can find any remaining tickets here.
Blossoms are also set to make appearances at the Isle Of Wight Festival, TRNSMT and Liam Gallagher & Friends’ Malta Weekender. In August, they’ll open for Tom Grennan at his gig in London’s Gunnersbury Park.
