In a recent broadcast, Day6 Young K gained absurd criticism from MIDZYs, after saying THIS to ITZY Chaeryeong.
On June 11, the web entertainment show, “Full-Belly Chaeryeong, Hanging Out With a Friend” (Chae-Bae-Bul) released its premiere episode on the official YouTube channel, “Merry Go Round.” 
In particular, this is the first solo show that the ITZY’s main dancer will be hosting for and to kick off, they invited her long-time friend, Day6 Young K, who was introduced as her friend for 10 years.
Despite their age gap and their status as senior-junior in the entertainment scene, the two formed their friendship since their trainee days under the same agency, JYP Entertainment and it remained strong till date.
Prior to the episode then, fans’ expectations were raised with a teaser clip released where Chaeryeong brazenly asked Young K:
“Who were you thinking of when you wrote the lyrics for, ‘You Were Beautiful?’ Was it me by any chance?”
However, Day6 Young K showed him a blank face and nonchalantly replied:
“I don’t think so at all.”

When this certain part spread on X, it received 1.4 million views and more than 43k likes.
While it was supposed to be a joke between the two celebrities, there are many MIDZYs who got offended for Chaeryeong due to the lack of context and concluded that Young K was being rude to the female idol.
Some fans implied that he could have replied better, such as teasing her a little or laughing about the question, rather than his “weirded out” facial expression.”
However, MyDays and other MIDZYs defended Young K by providing more context of the show.
In the full episode, Chaeryeong revealed the concept of the program, explaining that the MC and guest, regardless of their age and seniority are same-age friends in the Full-Belly Universe, hence, the informal language.
Here, the plan is to also create “nonsense” topics and “unstructured” conversation with the guest.

In addition to this, fans think that it would create more backlash if Young K will said that she think of Chaeryeong while making the song, since she is still a minor at the time, even if as a joke
As seen in the full interview, Young K refuted it, but went on by complimenting the idol, saying:
“It’s really sad I didn’t even think of you this much, but you were so adorable, cute and smart even when you were a trainee.”
