Thanking viewers for the movie’s success, Don Lee said, “The biggest feeling I have is gratitude. I’m thankful for just [the fact] that people come to watch The Roundup series, and even more so because they come in large numbers and show their support.”

He continued, “Sometimes, I secretly watch my movies with the audience in regular theaters. Since I’m quite noticeable, I hide because I might get caught. The viewers seem to enjoy the movies a lot. In that regard, I feel unconditionally grateful every day.”

When asked who he is most thankful to, Don Lee replied, “I’m most grateful to the audience who made this miracle and to our actors, staff, and production team. We filmed The Roundup: Punishment in the cold winter, so we were all in pain and suffered while filming. I’m thankful to the team who worked hard as one.”

Don Lee did not hide his gratitude towards his wife, Ye Jung Hwa. He recalled, “When I first met my wife, I was very poor. I used to plan movies in a small room covering the walls with 40 to 50 sheets of A4 paper. She probably must have thought I was a strange person.” “I was poor and often injured, but she took care of me.”

He continued, “After that, it wasn’t long before I gained fame and my situation improved. I’m grateful to my wife who stood by me since the time I was poor, gave me ideas, and helped me.”

Don Lee and Ye Jung Hwa have an age gap of 17 years. They publicly dated since 2016 and registered their marriage in 2021. The couple will have a private wedding ceremony on May 26, 2024.
