This is his second underwear related arrest.
Former Japanese musical theater actor Tagoku Tsubasa has been arrested.
Tagoku was arrested on August 2, suspected of breaking into an apartment in Hachioji, a western Tokyo city.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Hachioji police station, the 37-year-old snuck into an apartment shared by a woman and her male roommate. Tagoku allegedly entered an empty room through a window, where he then smelled the woman’s underwear.
He was caught by the roommate, who then held him down until authorities arrived. Tagoku has reportedly admitted that he snuck into the room and smelled her underwear to satisfy his sexual desires.
Police are also investigating if the former actor was involved in some reported instances of trespassing in the surrounding area.
According to his social media activity, Tagoku was a musical actor who appeared in multiple stage works. His most recent role was in a 2021 production of Cats.
His activities seemed to stop in 2022 following his conviction for stealing a different woman’s underwear. He received a suspended sentence and probation, sharing an apology on his social media accounts.
