Janet Jackson reveals three surprising celebrities are her cousins

Janet Jackson has revealed that she’s cousins with three legendary celebrities – find out who they are below.

Speaking to BBC Radio 2‘s Scott Mills, Jackson was asked about her family tree and to clarify the rumours that Stevie Wonder is related to the Jackson family. When asked if she’s related to Wonder, she replied: “He’s our cousin.”

That’s not all, however, as Janet Jackson went on to reveal that she’s also cousins with Tracy Chapman and Samuel L. Jackson. Speaking on her relation to Wonder, Janet said: “Not a lot of people know that. He’s our cousin, on my mother’s side. So is Tracy Chapman, so is Samuel L. Jackson.”

When asked for clarity on how she’s related to Samuel L. Jackson, Janet explained: “He would be a cousin too. I mean, he’s not my brother.”

Janet, who is the sister of Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five, did not expand on the exact extent of her relations to Stevie Wonder, Tracy Chapman and Samuel L. Jackson.

In other Janet Jackson news, the singer recently announced a second London date with Wyclef Jean on her upcoming 2024 tour. The music legend is bringing her ‘Together Again’ tour to 10 cities later this year, kicking off in Paris at the Accor Arena on September 25.

From there, she’ll continue on to stops in Birmingham, London, Glasgow and Manchester, before heading back to mainland Europe and concluding at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on October 10. The singer’s UK and European leg of her ‘Together Again’ tour will mark her first UK performance since Glastonbury 2019. The shows will follow the US trek, where Nelly opened as support across June and July.

The tour will offer fans the chance to watch Jackson celebrate her 50th anniversary in entertainment while spotlighting 35 years of her 1989 album ‘Rhythm Nation 1814’.
