According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network for theater tickets, Following has attracted approximately 1,040,776 moviegoers as of June 6, surpassing the 1 million mark in its fourth week of release. 
Following tells the story of a realtor, Gu Jung Tae, who witnesses the death of a social media influencer, Han So Ra, after sneaking into her home. He gets framed as the murderer and now has to find the killer and clear his name.
With its compelling characters — a real estate agent who spies on others’ lives and an influencer who thrives on others’ attention — combined with the stellar performances of Byun Yo Han and Shin Hye Sun, the film has been praised as “fresh and exciting”.
Moviegoers of the film gave remarks such as “It was fresh and the actors’ performances were excellent,” “Surprisingly enjoyable,” “Shin Hye Sun and Byun Yo Han’s performances were amazing,” and “A unique and fresh storyline with killer acting,” etc.
