The purpose of the music video is to take the listeners down memory lane, back to the time when they were in love with their best friend and it features the story of two childhood friends-turned-lovers. Sorn mentioned in an interview that she feels that scenario is way more common than people think. The clip begins with a girl, Sorn, learning that her friend, Hong Seok, has been granted a visa to visit the US for an extended time. Then she goes picking up her old video camera, digging up forgotten videos with the memories the pair have made together. It is worth mentioning that both Sorn and Hong Seok were previously labelmates under CUBE Entertainment. Sorn was a member of girl-group CLC who debuted in 2015, while Hong Seok's group PENTAGON debuted a year later.

“Crazy Stupid Lovers” features a 90s, minimalistic synth that accompanies their voices without taking center stage, setting the mood for what the artists are trying to convey. Sorn and Hong Seok take turns singing the verses while the choruses are sung as a duet, either layering their voices or complimenting each other. Even though the song never changes tempo and there is no noticeably build-up, the super catchy and emotive chorus hits hard making this track one of Sorn's most memorable solo releases.
