Netizens are concerned about THIS rookie soloist due to her extremely young age. Here’s what happened.
Fans have been vocal about underage idols debuting in the K-pop industry. Compared to previous generations, the influence of K-pop has reached a global scale, and the industry has faced criticism regarding its ethics, as well as the exposure of young individuals to K-pop’s harsh and demanding nature.
Many fans have pointed out the rigorous training program these idols go through before making their debut and the psychological toll this can take on the individuals.
In the fourth and fifth generations of K-pop, numerous idols have made headlines for their young age. These idols include Hyein of NewJeans (debuted at 15 years old), BABYMONSTER Chiquita (introduced at 13), and UNIS Seowon (debuted at 12 and is currently 13). Meanwhile, a soloist is gaining attention online for her talent and young age.
On platform X (Twitter), netizens brought up rookie idol Jung Cho Ha, who was born in 2013 and has been trending across the K-pop community for her talent and stage presence.
Jung Cho Ha rose to popularity for her appearance on the survival show “Show Queen,” and due to her visual similarities with Jennie of BLACKPINK, she even garnered the nickname “Little Jennie.”
Apart from her dancing, Jung Cho Ha released her digital single “Anymore” on December 29, 2023, and has signed an exclusive contract with M.O.T Entertainment.
She even appeared with PENTAGON member Kino in a TikTok dance challenge, and netizens have been praising the soloist’s incredible dance skills. Additionally, Jung Cho Ha and Kino also did a ‘Baggy Jeans’ dance challenge later on.

Here’s how netizens reacted to Jung Cho Ha’s dance skills:
- “I’m older than Jung Cho Ha yet she’s still way better at dancing than me.”
- “She’s the cutest.”
- “It’s the fact that I’m older than Cho Ha and she’s better at everything than me
- “Cutest duo I’ve ever seen.”
Despite the praise and compliments, some netizens expressed concerns for the idol. International netters have found out that Jung Cho Ha was only 11 years old, causing many to point out how insane it was seeing her debut in such a cut-throat industry.
Netizens mostly called out the people responsible for her debut, which includes her parents, and agency. Read their reactions below:

I usually don’t speak on matters that doesn’t concern Jin, or BTS……but this needs to stop…11 is not an age to start an idol career….please parents, elders….realske the importance of education….education matters a lot in life….all this fame and money, it takes just a few… https://t.co/OGrEWsRXun

I’m all for kids following their dreams but 11 is way too young to be an idol https://t.co/O7IkCtxJh3

this needs to be stopped. There are thousand reasons why this needs to be stopped. For one, the industry is toxic as hell and the news we see daily are alarming enough. 2) these children aren’t mentally strong enough to deal with the k-pop stans and k-nets https://t.co/aWTIrrjA1b
