TREASURE Hyunsuk caused a heated debate after fans compared his pre-debut looks vs. his current.
On June 25, the fourth-gen idol became a hot topic among K-pop stans after one fan highlighted the drastic change his visuals and style underwent prior to debuting, during his early debut days, and now that the group is in their 4th year.

Based on the photos, Hyunsuk, during his early days as an idol, had refreshing and cute visuals. At the time, he was adored for his eyes and lovely smile. He was also often seen in black hair and simple style.
However, starting in 2023, fans were surprised to see his cute aura vanish as this was the time that he started experimenting with his looks. His plump cheeks were gone and his jaw slimmer. His trademark eye smile was nowhere to be seen, and started being covered with dark eye makeup.
Lastly, he started dyeing his hair with neon colors, and styling it with braids.
Masih cute ah. Hyunsuk tuh cepet berubahnya. Nih dalam 1 bulan aja bisa berubah2 gini. pic.twitter.com/45TiLd2FrH

Fans are concerned that he is already losing his identity and becoming “unoriginal” by trying to change himself just to be on brand.
what’s crazier is most ppl were still calling him ugly when he was normal which im sure made him develop this “fuck the haters” stupid mentality that they get and he became .. whatever this is https://t.co/2AQlsEgUPy

i just want to point out that even though I don’t like G-Dragon at all, it’s clear the younger male YG artists been studying him and wanting to copy his style and personality
Mino from Winner was the first, and now Hyunsuk from Treasure is following suit
No originality at all. https://t.co/aDR3HDcH7p

Meanwhile, other show no concern about him, and tell fans to stop blaming YG and his stylist. They claim that Hyunsuk is the one who does it to himself.
But other than his style change, people also brought up his attitude shift.
In the past, Hyunsuk, according to fans, used to have a more gentle personality. Now, he has been embroiled in various controversies due to his careless remarks and decisions.

Even some TEUMEs (fandom) have divided opinions about Hyunsuk now, that they even blame him on the group’s failure to rise to the top, contrary to their popularity during their debut days.
