YG Entertainment has recently filed for a new trademark.
On May 24, the company submitted an application for the word “MONstiez.” Once registered, this word cannot be used by any other organization in its category.

It sounds similar to the name of their new girl group BABYMONSTERS.
Fans were quick to react to the news. Their first thought was that it could possibly be their new fanclub name.

Their reactions were mixed, with some liking it compared to other possible names while others believed it was not pleasant on the ears.

Instead of it referring to their fanclub, some fans suggested that “MONstiez” could be the name of an upcoming merch line representing BABYMONSTER. It would be similar to TREASURE‘s LINE FRIENDS characters, TRUZ.
I’ve been doing some research, I think “MONstiez” isn’t our fandom name because YG never applied trademark for their artist’s fandom. I also noticed it has similar classified code with TRUZ (trsr x line character)
