“Are they really trying to supress Wonyoung’s talent?”
Koreaboo
IVE‘s Wonyoung reacted to her microphone being lowered during a performance.
On August 3, IVE performed at 2024 Lollapalooza.
During the performance, IVE slayed with their live vocals an stage presence. Many of their songs have such technically difficult notes, but the members pulled them off perfectly while still having that idol persona.

Netizens found the clip of Wonyoung getting ready to do the adlib, but sadly, it was clear that a backing track was drowning out the idol’s beautiful vocals.
In particular, OP pointed out how confused Wonyoung looked, with many assuming that she had no idea that her microphone was going to be turned down.
my girl is trying to sing her high note and adlibs omg she looks so confused 😭😭 https://t.co/YP3jBpzuhJ pic.twitter.com/wBoVmDpItl

When the post was shared, it went viral, and netizens shared their anger that Wonyoung and Liz had their microphones lowered at the end of the performance, where they had perfectly showcased their visuals.
I swear someone did it on purpose because Youngliz’s mic was turned down only for the time of all night. When they said goodbye, Mic was returned to normal https://t.co/g9bHNuT97H

IVE and Wonyoung have constantly proven their live vocals, so it’s sad that someone doesn’t have enough faith to allow them to perform live until the very end.
