In late May, Netflix added the highly-demanded third season of Bridgerton to its catalog. The series is set in an alternative history in which King George III married a woman of African heritage and brought about racial equality.

The show follows the social season of the upper class, during which they are introduced to society and seek out marriage matches.

While this season’s focus is Penelope Featherington, one character has stood out to viewers despite his smaller role.

Harry Dankworth is the husband of Prudence Dankworth, one of Penelope’s sisters, and has been described as a “himbo” by the actor who plays him, James Phoon.

There are not many details about Phoon’s personal life, but he is openly gay. In interviews about the show, the star has discussed how his role as a straight man is marking a huge change in the industry.

Ten years ago in this industry, I don’t think many gay actors would’ve got the opportunity to play straight roles.

The second part of the third season will be added to Netflix on June 10, and we can’t wait to see more of Phoon in the future!
